Concrete Bar NYC

As I venture out into the cold in search of cheap alcohol and good food I stumble upon Concrete Restaurant and Bar with the familiar A-Sign hand written saying happy hour. I thought why not and I set into this spot and find no hostess or bartender so I head to the upstairs area and

Aussie style in NYC

Eating and drinking in Midtown can be rather expensive especially in a group setting so when I find a place with a happy hour (or 3) I’m more inclined to check that out after work. The Australian in Midtown has a happy hour with 4 to 6 dollar beers and food menu that fits that

Its a Bistro on the Beach!

Beach Bistro is rated Number 1 in the Tampa area by Zagat so I wanted to see this for myself. Also Anna Maria island is beautiful so that’s worth the trip alone. So the Wife and I decided this would be the perfect place to take her parents as a nice “thank you for everything

The feel and smell of Florida

When I think of Florida I think of places like Casey Key Fish House that are right on the water that give you a no shoes, no shirt, no problem kind of attitude. All I want is a tropical drink, fresh fish and fried sides served in a plastic basket and this place delivers. Pull

Veg out with my Basa

Sarasota is such a quiet town and is always a great place to visit on my downtime. It’s a great place to get fresh fish so I try and grab some as much as possible down there. Hungry for lunch my wife and father in law took me to one of his favorite local eateries

A throwback to 1905

I’ve been going to the Columbia Restaurant when I visit my inlaws for a few years now. If I fly in early to Sarasota that day I go that day and if I take an evening flight then I go in the next day. It’s like clockwork and its the perfect way to start your

Holiday Detox

I love eating unhealthy greasy fattening food but my body can’t handle this for extended periods of time. I know it’s sacrilegious but even I need to detox and eat clean especially after the holidays. After eating Turkey, countless sides and sugary treats you need to eat some fresh greens and fruits. Here is my

This might be the most interesting chicken and waffles ever

This may also be the world’s longest title for Chicken and waffles ever. I like brunch and I love eating Chicken and Waffles. This isn’t your ordinary chicken and waffles. They use a Jerked quail in a waffle cone placed atop a sweet potato and smoked maple puree. The quail is no joke, its nicely

It doesn’t always have to be gourmet

I like going into regular places that serve food with or without Plexiglas partition in the way. Sometimes I’ve found the best food from places like this. In New York you see a lot of Tex Mex places which is basically Americanized Mexican food but a lot of the time they are run by Asians.

Poboy tour – New Orleans style

One of my favorite cities to go to is New Orleans. I enjoy it there so much that I’ll probably retire down there when I get older. When I visit down there I have to have at least one Po Boy. The last time I went on an extended trip I ended up having 3
