Its a Bistro on the Beach!

Beach Bistro is rated Number 1 in the Tampa area by Zagat so I wanted to see this for myself. Also Anna Maria island is beautiful so that’s worth the trip alone. So the Wife and I decided this would be the perfect place to take her parents as a nice “thank you for everything you do for us” dinner. The location itself is different and has the vibe of an upscale shanty. Never thought I would describe a restaurant like that.

Lets start with the Amuse-bouche with a wonderful focaccia bread and a taste of their Tomato “One Helluva Soup”. Next time I come back I’m getting that soup, its so delicious.

Next comes the appetizers which they call their smaller plates. The Wife and I split Butter Poached Lobster & Pan Roasted Oxymoron Gulf Shrimp which comes with a side of Citrus grits. Lobster and shrimp were great and I really wanted to like the Citrus grits but the flavors of it were not my cup of tea. The texture of the grits are great but the flavor fell flat for me. It didn’t ruin the taste of the Lobster and Shrimp

On comes the Main course and I stick to the rule to try what’s caught in the area (for example they have Foie Gras from Hudson Valley in NY. I’m from New York and I didn’t come all the way down here to have something from New York. Its probably cooked to perfection but I’ll try something local) so I order the Florribbean Grouper which is gulf grouper with toasted coconut and cashew crust, pan seared placed atop mashed potatoes, topped with lobster and served with a side of asparagus and root vegetables. Also got brussel sprouts to round out the dish.

I love shaved Brussels sprouts especially with bacon.

This grouper has just the right amount of richness. So good!

Now here comes dessert. I thought I wouldn’t get dessert but I saw Key Lime Pie so you know when in Rome.

This legit might be the best Key Lime Pie I have ever had and I think everybody else at the table agreed.

If your in Florida and want to have a great meal or a great place for an anniversary, thank you dinner or even an I’m sorry dinner(Hey stuff happens) then come here.

Also they sent us away with a bag of caramel bacon popcorn. I’m full just thinking about it

you for the foresight that went into getting us there during your visit.
