New York City Ribs

It’s cool and all living in Northern Manhattan but it really sucks that I can’t use a grill or a smoker. It’s just not convenient or legal in most places. So I have to find tricks to get ribs that fall off the bone and have a nice crust. Here comes my slow cooker and my oven.

I take about 4lbs of pork ribs and do the bare minimum to them. Over them in some salt and pepper and a healthy amount of brown sugar. Put em in the slow cooker for 8 hours. After that I transfer them to a aluminum sheet and cover them with my favorite bbq sauce (That KC Masterpiece son). Cook them off for another 15 to 20 minutes at 400 degrees.


Fall off the bone delicious. Serve them up with some rice and corn with a salad of feta cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers(Just toss the salad with sumac, salt and pepper).
